This is my first fitness tracker, and overall I'm pretty happy with the device. The biggest annoyances are the touchscreen and watch faces, though I've heard the experience is consistent with other fitbit products. Build quality is good and the device is nicely sized even for smaller wrists. Overall as a general fitness tracker this does a good job, but for serious exercise tracking there are likely better options. Pros: 1. Battery life is excellent. I rarely use GPS and regularly get 7+ days of battery life, typically charging the unit when it gets down to 30-40%. It drops an average of 10% per day. 2. Watch syncs quickly with the andorid app, and I've not run into any connectivity problems. 3. Data insights in the app are great (even without premium), though the app can feel at times like a big advertisement for premium. It doesn't bother me that much, but I can see it being distracting for some users. 4. I rarely use GPS but I did test it on a walk and had no issues. I've heard of some users reporting that GPS doesn't work properly, but I wear my watch with a fingers width under the band and had no issues. 5. Workout tracking is great and functions as expected. I've used it with walking, spinning, and yoga. Workouts appear in the app and HR monitoring seems generally accurate. 6. Sleep monitoring and data are very cool. I can't attest to the accuracy of sleep stages, but I generally agree that I feel more rested when I have higher sleep scores. If nothing else it's made me more conscious of what time I need to go to bed to enough sleep, and the reminder notifications are helpful. The vibrating wakeup alarm feature is also a great feature. 7. Step counting for walks is very accurate when compared to my phone. Throughout the day though I typically register 20-30% more steps on the fitbit than my phone. Some of this is because the fitbit is more sensitive and I always have it on, but it does count erroneous steps from moving my hand during sleep and doing activites like spinning. I think my phone undercounts and the fitbit overcounts, with the true number being somewhere in the middle. I also find that wearing the watch on my non-dominant hand but using the setting that it's worn on my dominant hand helps to reduce the step count slightly so it's more accurate. 8. Screen brightness is excellent and is visible even in bright daylight. Cons: 1. Touchscreen is very finicky. You're supposed to be able to double-tap to wake up the screen but I find this often didn't work. After researching a bit, double-tapping works best by pressing once firmly, then waiting a second, and then pressing firmly again. I assume this is to prevent the screen from accidentally turning on but it just feels like the unit is not responsive. Swiping between screens similarly produces issues at times, but generally if you firmly press and drag your finger it works. I almost returned the watch because of this, but now that I've used it a few weeks I've learned to live with it. 2. EDA scan is gimmicky and it's uncomfortable holding the sides of the watch for 3 minutes straight. 3. EKG works but the read is highly dependent on the way that you hold the watch to make a proper circuit. It can really only show you sinus rhythm and atrial fibrillation, but may be insightful for some users. 4. SP02% is only tracked while sleeping and there's not real-time monitor. 5. There is no official connectivity with Google Fit even though Google owns FitBit. 6. Watch faces are pretty bad. I don't understand why so many of the options have letters/numbers cut off from the screen, it's plain bad design. I've settled on 'vogue' but it would be nice to customize the colors and which metrics are displayed.

I love the features of this FitBit. The band seems way more durable than previous models, also. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it just came with the USB charger cord vs the usb with AC outlet plug.

Wish i could change a few things but overall like it. Ive had a fit bit for 15 years. I wish it had better clock faces and could customize what i want on it better, but it works great for steps & heart rate

It’s good. I switched from the Amazon Halo to this. The premium fee is more expensive and the user interface isn’t as good but unlike the Halo, it at least doesn’t have problems syncing. If I didn’t have syncing issues with the Halo, I’d stick with it instead. Also the Halo offers the same features, but it also scans your body image and lets you know your BMI. It helps visually with your progress which I loved. Maybe as Halo becomes more established they will work out the kinks. But for now, I’ll use the Fitbit

I've had Fitbits for about 4 years now, and had the Charge 4 for 3 years before losing it. I like the display and functionality of the Charge 5 but I feel like it doesn't accurately capture heart rate during non-running exercise. I do miss that it doesn't automatically track runs like the Charge 4 did (unless I haven't figured out how to turn on this function).

I had a charge 3 for over 5 years and it finally gave out, so I updated to charge 5. Just got it a week ago, no issues so far. I don’t love the band.

I have had an overall good experience with this Fitbit. For context, this was an upgrade for me from an Inspire that was several years old. I like that this Fitbit is an in-between from the ultra-basic step trackers and full-on smartwatches (for me a smartwatch face is too large, with too many features, and too pricy for what I want). All I wanted is a mid-range Fitbit that gives me good step tracking and heart rate tracking, and that is what I got. I’d say the notifications functions on this are not perfect, but good enough for me as I don’t like checking my phone compulsively outside of what I need for work anyway. I’d say it tracks my HR best when I’m on my bike and my hand position isn’t changing much, it doesn’t seem to track quite as well when I’m lifting weights, but that could be me not being as observant of it when I’m lifting. I get roughly just under a week of charge on this when I don’t remember to charge it regularly. Overall I’d say it was worth it at a sale price, not sure I’d pay the full price on this one.
